David Thomas is Director of Infectious Diseases and the Stanhope Bayne-Jones Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. His research is focused on hepatitis viruses, especially interactions between HIV and viral hepatitis. Dr. Thomas has served the National Institutes of Health and leading professional societies and the associated biomedical journals in multiple leadership/editorial capacities. He is a member of ASCI (2001), AAP (2011), AAP Council and received the Society Citation Award from Infectious Diseases Association of America (2014). His mentoring has also been recognized by the Johns Hopkins University Provost’s Mentoring Award and the IDSA Walter Stamm Mentoring Award.
